Kissimmee Patrol Capt. Warren Shepard has completed the fifth and final level for certification in the Homeland Security Program, a designation issued by the American Board for Certification in Homeland Security.
In September of 2010, Shepard completed the course and examination to become certified in Homeland Security Level – V. To achieve this esteemed designation, candidates must complete training in basic emergency preparedness, introduction to weapons of mass destruction and terrorism, response and coordination, incident awareness, response, terrorism and the chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and high-yield explosives training.
“Earning this senior level of certification is an attest to Captain Shepard’s commitment to continuing education and excellence in the homeland security arena as well as his commitment to expertise in the field of law enforcement,” Chief Fran Iwanski said.
