Skate fundraiser

A fundraiser for Kissimmee roller figure skating national champion Jessica Feuerstein  is Nov. 7 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Skate Reflections, 1111 Dyer Blvd., Kissimmee.

Feuerstein will make her fourth trip to the world championships in Portugal next month. She was the runner-up in Junior Figures last year and has placed among the top four in all of her international competitions.

Proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit all U.S. skaters competing in Portugal. Several skaters will perform exhibition routines.

YMCA golf

The Osceola County YMCA is holding its annual charity golf tournament fundraiser at Kissimmee Bay Country Club Saturday.

The event is an 8 a.m. shotgun start. The fee is $75 and will raise funds for the local drowning prevention program for young children held at the Osceola County YMCA.

Cat golf tourney

The 4th annual Cat Scratch Fever golf tournament to benefit Spay the Strays will be held at Kissimmee Bay Country Club Nov. 6. The four-person scramble begins at 8 a.m. The fee is $65 and includes lunch and prizes.

Spay the Strays is a St. Cloud-based organization that traps stray cats, neuters them, then releases them where they were found. For more information, call Jill (419-367-6828) or Anita (407-460-2305).

55-over softball

The city of Kissimmee Parks and Recreation Department will hold its 55-over softball league beginning Tuesday.

Those interested in participating may contact Al Frisenda at 407-892-1601.

Rec basketball

The city of Kissimmee Parks and Recreation Department will begin accepting registration for the Kissimmee Youth Basketball League from Nov. 1 through Dec. 8.

The fee is $50, which includes a jersey.  Registration after Dec. 8 will incur a $10 late fee.Practices begin Jan. 3. The season is from Jan. 22 to Feb. 26. Games are played on Saturdays at the Kissimmee Civic Center. Registration is weekdays from noon to 5:30 p.m. at the Fortune Road Athletic Complex or by registering online at www.kissimmeeparks.org.
