Student athletes from Harmony High and St. Cloud High will collect food and cash donations to benefit the St. Cloud Food Pantry during “Make A Difference Days” Saturday and Oct. 30 at three St. Cloud area supermarkets.

The students will be at Winn-Dixie and Publix supermarkets both days.

Harmony baseball coach Mike Fields began the program several years ago when he coached at St. Cloud High and continued it when he moved to Harmony.

This is the second year that St. Cloud and Harmony students, normally rivals, have joined forces to help the county’s needy.

“It has been a lot of fun watching the kids work together toward a common goal,” Fields said.

Saturday, the Harmony girls soccer team and members of Harmony’s National Honor Society will collect food and cash donations at the Winn-Dixie at the intersection of U.S. highways 15 and 192.

The Harmony and St. Cloud baseball teams will take food and cash donations at the Winn-Dixie located on Canoe Creek Road.

On Oct. 30, the St. Cloud girls basketball team and the Harmony baseball team will take cash donations at Publix at the intersection of U.S. highways 15-192.

The students will offer customers entering the store an information sheet about the collection and accept donations as the customers exit.
