Baldwin announces

Osceola High 2008 state champion wrestler Pete Baldwin will compete at Old Dominion University, he recently announced. Baldwin, a senior, will sign with the Virginia school in November.

55-over softball

The city of Kissimmee Parks and Recreation Department will hold its 55-over softball league beginning Nov. 2.

Cat golf tourney

The 4th annual Cat Scratch Fever golf tournament to benefit Spay the Strays will be at Kissimmee Bay Country Club Nov. 6. The four-person scramble begins at 8 a.m. The fee is $65 and includes lunch and prizes.

Spay the Strays is a St. Cloud-based organization that traps stray cats, neuters them, then releases them where they were found.

YMCA golf

The Osceola County YMCA is holding its annual charity golf tournament fundraiser at Kissimmee Bay Country Club Oct. 30.

The event is an 8 a.m. shotgun start. The fee is $75 and will raise funds for the local drowning prevention program for young children held at the Osceola County YMCA.
