Using marijuana plants to landscape the yard got one St. Cloud man into trouble with the law.

Osceola County Investigative Bureau agents responded to 1115 Mississippi Ave. in St. Cloud in reference to suspected marijuana plants growing in front of a house. Upon arrival, agents observed the plants growing in planters in front of the residence.

The plants could easily be seen from the roadway with an unobstructed view of the residence, Osceola County Sheriff's Office reports said. Agents obtained permission from the homeowner, Bryan Hartman, 45, to search the residence. They discovered 17 plants ranging from 2 feet to 7 feet tall.

Hartman was arrested and charged with cultivation of cannabis. He was booked into the Osceola County Jail.
