Kissimmee resident Juan M. Ortiz, 67, was killed in a two-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon in Orange County.

The crash occurred at about 1:10 p.m.

Ortiz, driving a 2005 Toyota SUV, was northbound on Continental Gateway Drive in the left turn lane approaching a stop sign at the intersection of World Center Drive. A 2005 Ford two-door sedan driven by Eveliris L. Lopez, 21, of St. Cloud, was traveling east on World Center Drive in the middle travel lane approaching Continental Gateway Drive when Ortiz attempted to make a left turn onto World Center Drive in front of Lopez. The front end of Lopez’s vehicle hit the left side of Ortiz’s SUV.

Lopez sustained serious injuries in the crash and was transported to the hospital. A passenger in Lopez’s vehicle, Vantellyn R. Sawyer, 20, of Kissimmee, also sustained serious injuries and was hospitalized.
