Osceola County Sheriff's Office deputies have arrested William Merton Cox, 44, of 4715 Pine Tree Drive, St. Cloud, and charged him with attempted murder, domestic aggravated assault with a firearm and domestic battery.

On Oct. 11 at approximately 1:38 p.m., deputies responded to a residence on Pine Tree Drive. Upon arrival, deputies spoke with the victim who reported she was at her residence when her husband became upset and pulled a 9mm handgun from the dresser and threatened to kill her. The victim said she covered her face with a pillow and her husband fired the gun close to her head.

The victim told deputies she was able to run out of the house and call 911.

Deputies observed numerous firearms in the suspect’s house. They also saw a bullet hole in the floor and located a bullet casing. Cox was arrested and booked into the Osceola County Jail with no bond.
