Suspect arrested for shooting at bar patrons
Johnny Gonzalez, 36, of 5044 Downing St., Orlando, was arrested Sept. 30 for shooting at patrons in a Kissimmee-area bar. At approximately 12:16 a.m. on Sept. 30, Osceola County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the Castaway Bar in the Carefree Inn, 4900 W. U.S. Highway 192. Upon arrival, deputies spoke with witnesses who said a male had been punched in the face by another male in the bar. Deputies observed some blood on the floor where witnesses said the incident occurred.
Witnesses said that several minutes later a male, later identified as Gonzalez, entered the bar and fired a shot at a glass door, nearly missing a female sitting nearby. After firing the shot, Gonzalez was reported to have walked into the lobby, re-entered the bar and “high-fived” another man before leaving, Sheriff’s Office reports said.
Using video surveillance at the motel, Gonzalez was located in his room at the nearby Super 8 Motel, at 4880 W. U.S. Highway 192. He was charged with aggravated assault with a firearm and discharging a firearm in public and was booked into the Osceola County Jail.

Agents uncover pot growing operation
Osceola County Investigative Bureau and Polk County drug agents located six grow houses Sept. 29 in Osceola and Polk counties.
Law enforcement authorities said the operation began in June, when Osceola County agents followed up on information from a grow house discovered in May. The information led to a residence in Kissimmee.
Osceola County agents served three search warrants in Kissimmee – at 2413 Lemberton Drive, at 2583 Jasmine Trace Drive and at 3179 Rosemarie Drive. Polk County agents served three search warrants in Davenport – at 109 Meadow Green Drive, 186 Timberpark Drive and 258 Richmond Drive.
According to authorities, two of the houses in Kissimmee were active cannabis grows and all three in Polk County were active. Between the two counties, 157 plants were recovered that ranged from two to seven feet tall.
Osceola County agents arrested Saul Mesa, 45, in Kissimmee. Arrested in Polk County were: Armando Dominguez Sanchez, 38; Jose Marante, 45; Lazaro Piloto Gomez, 45; and Dayami Lopez, 44. All five suspects were charged with cultivation of cannabis and theft of utilities.
The Osceola County Investigative Bureau is a multi-agency task force comprised of Osceola County Sheriff’s Office deputies, St. Cloud Police Department officers and Florida Department of Law Enforcement agents who investigate vice, narcotics and organized crime. This is the 10th grow house operation OCIB has investigated this year.

Reward increased to $20,000 in possible road rage incident
