PlaneCrash03_092310 PlaneCrash01_092310Florida Flight Training single-engine aircraft made an emergency landing Thursday afternoon at Kissimmee Gateway Airport. The plane, a Piper model made in 1989, lost its left landing gear sometime after takeoff earlier in the day.

After notifying the tower at the airport, pilot trainer Aron Simon took control of the aircraft from his student and made several passes of the airfield to allow emergency responders to set up, and to use up fuel. The pilot then landed the aircraft on the remaining two wheels and its tail and was met immediately by Kissimmee Fire Department personnel. No injuries were reported.
