St. Cloud road closed during  project

Massachusetts Avenue, from 13th to 17th streets, is now closed until March, according to the city of St. Cloud Public Services staff.

The purpose of this closure is the Massachusetts Avenue Rehabilitation Project, a city of St. Cloud capital improvement project that includes the removal, upgrading and replacement of the old concrete roadway and utilities. This road closure will continue throughout the duration of the project, which is projected to end in March.

Residents in that area are advised to access their properties from the alley.

Lane closures on 192

The city of Kissimmee Public Works and Engineering Department has announced there will be lane closures of the outside westbound lane of U.S. Highway 192 between Ross and Bay streets beginning Monday, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., and will continue to be closed evenings through Monday, Oct 4

Reynolds Inliner will be working on storm sewers.

Operation Christmas Child

Operation Christmas Child spokesperson Livia Satterfield will speak at First Baptist Church, 1700 N. John Young Parkway, at 7 p.m. Thursday about her experience receiving a shoe box as a child living in an orphanage in Galati, Romania.

Satterfield will share how the Operation Christmas Child shoe box was the first gift she ever received and that now she has had the opportunity to hand out shoe boxes to children in situations similar to her own.

A project of international relief organization Samaritan’s Purse-Operation Christmas Child, will hand-deliver more than 8.5 million shoe box gifts to hurting children in some 100 countries this year.
