Jafet-Castellanos

Castellanos

Kissimmee police detectives are looking for Jafet Castellanos, 40, in reference to several business burglaries.

On Sept. 16, at approximately midnight, Kissimmee police officers responded to 715 E. Vine St., Suite 3, in reference to a burglary. Officers observed that the business, Rainbow Dental, had been burglarized. The suspect had removed the front door lock to gain access to the building. Once inside, officers noticed the suspect had made a large hole in the wall that is shared with the business next door, Metro PCS.

During the investigation, officers determined Suite 5, Paul’s Carpet and Tile, also was burglarized. The suspect had damaged the alarm panel in the back of the business and a large hole was made on the west wall, which is shared with the Metro PCS store.

While searching for the suspect, officers found an unoccupied truck in the rear parking lot. The hood of the vehicle was warm to the touch as if it had been recently driven. In the bed of the truck was a computer tower later identified as belonging to Rainbow Dental.

The truck, registered to Castellanos, was impounded and transported to the Kissimmee Police Department for processing. Inside the truck, crime scene technicians found the suspect’s wallet.

A check of Castellanos’ criminal record revealed he had several warrants out of Lee County for grand theft and burglary charges. The Lee County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the warrants were issued for Castellanos breaking into an AT&T cell phone store.

It was later determined that the suspect stole a van from the Sherwin Williams Paint Store at 1013 E. Vine St. The van was later recovered on the Florida’s Turnpike near the Yeehaw Junction exit, indicating Castellanos may be heading back to South Florida, where he lives.

Based on the investigation, Kissimmee police detectives will be charging the suspect with multiple felonies.

Police said Castellanos has been linked to several burglaries of Metro PCS stores in the Central Florida area.

Anyone with information on the suspect is urged to contact the Kissimmee Police Department’s Property Crimes Unit at 407-846-3333, by e-mail seeitsayit@kissimmee.org or CRIMELINE at 1-800-423-TIPS (8477).
