The Kissimmee Police Department has begun Operation Safe and Secure.

The Specialized Investigative Unit from the department will remind residents to practice crime prevention tips. The unit will work with local businesses and residents to ensure everyone’s safety in the upcoming holiday shopping season.

The unit will patrol parking lots looking for possible crime opportunities, such as items left in view inside cars or leaving a purse in a the cart while shopping. Detectives also will speak with residents about personal safety.
