Poinciana was stunned at Eagle field by Palm Bay Heritage, 27-6, for its home opener last week.

“We talked to the guys about that last week, but we couldn’t get the message through,” Coach Michael Timpson said.

The game was stopped by lightning at half time.

“Since it wasn’t a district game, that was it. We wanted to finish it, of course, but that wasn’t an option,” Timpson said. “We had made some adjustments, but we weren’t able to do anything about it.”

Poinciana, 0-2, scored a 70-yard TD pass from Michael Cirino to Joey Decomo. The team is off this week.
