Kissimmee police detectives Thursday arrested Tarik Andrei Shomari Grant, 18, of Poinciana, and charged him with robbery with a firearm and attempted murder relating to a shooting and robbery Wednesday at Krazy Vern’s Car Wash in Kissimmee.

On Wednesday at approximately 5 p.m., Kissimmee police officers responded to the car wash, which is at 2000 Michigan Ave., in reference to shots fired. Upon arrival, officers spoke with a witness who stated he saw a black male at the car wash with a gun and that while washing his car, he heard shots.

Detectives contacted the victim, a 19-year-old male, at the hospital. The victim stated that he sells baseball caps and he received a call from an unknown male who wanted to buy some caps. They agreed to meet at the car wash. While the suspect was looking at the caps he pulled out a gun and attempted to rob the victim, who was shot during the incident.

The suspect fled the area in a burgundy Chevrolet Monte Carlo.

Through investigative ef-forts, detectives were able to identify a telephone number that was used to place the call to the victim prior to the shooting. The phone number was linked to an address in the Poinciana area.

The Kissimmee Police Specialized Investigative Unit observed the suspect vehicle parked in front of the address. The unit, along with Osceola County Sheriff’s Office deputies, conducted a stop on the vehicle and during the stop the suspect was detained and transported to the Sheriff’s Office for questioning.

The victim positively identified the suspect as the person that shot him, with the identification collaborated by a separate witness.

During the investigation, detectives were able to recover the gun used in the robbery near the scene of the crime. The victim was being treated for non-life threatening injuries and Grant was taken to the Osceola County Jail where he was being held on no bond.
