The Osceola Outlaws 11-U travel baseball team won the AAU 1st Pitch Classic tournament championship last weekend at Winter Haven.

Fifteen teams competed at the event.

\The Outlaws defeated the Tampa Black Sox, 9-4, in the championship game.

The Outlaws beat the Osceola Chiefs, 1-0, and the North Port Storm, 12-0, to reach the title game. The team played all three game in succession.

“It was a very hot and humid day for baseball, and for 11-year-old boys not only to play three games in a row but to win all three was an amazing feat,” Manager Don Boyer said.

The team batting average was .691 at the tournament, and the fielding percentage was 90 percent.

The team members are Tommy Boyer, Austin Herrholz, Eddie Kitta, Sean McGrath, Alex Ortiz, Luis Rodriguez, Irvin Rosario, Andru Rivera, Lucas Stetter and Adams Torres.

The Outlaws  assistant coaches are Alex Ortiz and Derek Herrholz.

The team will play about 50 to 60 games this fall. Boyer is seeking additional pitchers.
