Local law enforcement authorities are looking for a driver who hit a pedestrian Sunday on Orange Blossom Trail north of the Washington Avenue intersection and then left the scene.

The Florida Highway Patrol responding to an emergency call at about 6:15 a.m. found a pedestrian with critical injuries in the northbound travel lane of Orange Blossom Trail.

According to a Highway Patrol report, a witness stated a small red compact vehicle had collided with the pedestrian and continued north onto a side street. The car may have had front end, hood and windshield damage.
