Liberty High faculty member Paul Knight stays busy as president of the National Football Foundation/Florida Chapter, which organizes clinics and all-star games for elite level middle school and high school players.

He has an additional duty now as he promotes the first Florida vs. The USA Gridiron Challenge Aug. 27-28 at Daytona Beach Municipal Stadium.

The four games, scheduled for Kickoff Classic weekend, feature several nationally-ranked programs from Florida, Mississippi, Georgia and Texas.

Mississippi West Point, the Class 5A champion, takes on Daytona Beach Mainland Aug. 27 at 7 p.m.

On Aug. 28, Belle Glades Glades Central meets Dallas Skyline at noon. Both teams were ranked among the top 12 nationally last season by Rivals.com.

Later on Aug. 28, Belle Glades Glades Day takes on Jeffersonville, Ga. and Florida Class 2A state champ Cocoa vs. meets Olive Branch, Miss.

“This is the first time that something like this has been done in Florida,” Knight said.

Knight is a scout for Football University (FBU), affiliated with the National Football Foundation. For information on the Gridiron Classic next week or Football University, contact Paul Knight at coachknight44@hotmail.com.
