Osceola County Sheriff's Office deputies are cautioning residents about a police impersonator after an incident that recently occurred in Poinciana.
On Aug. 9 at about midnight, Sheriff's Office deputies responded to the area near Vance Harmon Park in Poinciana. Upon arrival, deputies spoke with a female who indicated she was driving in the area when a small white car pulled up behind her and activated blue and white strobe lights for her to pull over. At the same time, a blue car and a red car approached her vehicle. The driver of the blue car rolled down his window and pointed a gun at the victim, telling her to pull over. She indicated she would pull over, but instead, drove to the nearby Burger King. The three cars left the area in an unknown direction.
If anyone has information about this incident or a similar incident, call the Osceola County Sheriff's Office at 407-348-2222, or Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS. Calls made to Crimeline remain anonymous and tips to Crimeline that lead to the felony arrest of suspects and/or the recovery of stolen property and drugs are eligible for cash rewards of up to $1,000.
