Orlando Police on July 22 arrested Erika N. Hardemon, an Osceola County Corrections Department officer, and charged her with petit theft.

The Orlando Police Department responded to The Gap Store at 4967 International Drive in reference to a petit theft offense. Upon arrival, police were informed by store staff that Hardemon took merchandise valued at $19.99 without permission.

Hardemon was arrested and booked into the Orange County Jail with a $250 bond and has since bonded out.

Hardemon, according to Osceola County spokeswoman Bethzaida Garcia, was hired by the Osceola County Corrections Department on Nov. 30 and was considered a probationary employee. She has been placed on paid administrative leave pending an internal investigation by department.
