Osceola County Sheriff's Office detectives arrested registered sex offender Alexander Colon, 32, of 205 London Drive, Kissimmee, for downloading without permission a nude photo of a female his girlfriend knew.

The investigation began June 7 when deputies took a report from Colon's girlfriend. The female told deputies she found a nude photo of her friend on Colon's computer. Detectives spoke with the girlfriend's friend, who told investigators that Colon would frequently handle her phone, but she did not give Colon permission to download any photos of herself from the phone to his computer, Sheriff's Office reports said.

When Colon spoke with detectives, he told them he was looking through the victim's phone and found a nude photo. He said he knew she did not want the photo copied, but he continued to download it without her knowledge. Colon, a registered sex offender, was charged with one count of accessing a computer without authority.

Detectives also learned that Colon was not living at the residence he had registered with law enforcement and did not change his address within the statutory time period. Therefore, he also was charged with failure to comply with sex offender registration laws.

Colon was convicted of lewd and lascivious child under 16 in October of 1999 in Osceola County. Florida law requires all registered sex offenders to notify law enforcement within 48 hours of moving to a new residence.
