Osceola County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested and charged a Louisiana man July 8 with lewd and lascivious molestation after he allegedly touched two girls inappropriately in an area hotel pool.

At about 9:37 p.m., Sheriff's Office deputies responded to the Clarion Hotel, 7675 W. U.S. Highway 192, Kissimmee, where they spoke with two girls, ages 10 and 13. The girls said that while they were swimming in the hotel pool, an unknown Hispanic male inappropriately touched them several times. The alleged victims told their parents, who reported it to hotel management.

Deputies were able to locate the suspect, Jose Rodriguez Melendez, 50, of Louisiana, a guest at the hotel. Melendez told deputies he was swimming in the pool and accidentally bumped into both girls. Based on the information provided by the victims, Melendez was arrested and charged with two counts of lewd and lascivious molestation. He was booked into the Osceola County Jail with no bond.
