Two Osceola County men were arrested on drug, firearm and burglary charges July 6 after Osceola County Sheriff's Office deputies conducted a traffic stop.

Osceola County Sheriff's Office deputies with the Tourist Policing Unit on July 6 arrested Josue Santiago-Guerrero, 19, of 381 Kingfish Drive, Kissimmee, and Jose Morales, 23, of 21 Trophy Lane, Poinciana, after a traffic stop revealed they were suspects in a recent burglary.

Deputies stopped Guerrero’s vehicle for exceeding the speed limit. When deputies approached the vehicle, they saw that the occupants were not wearing their seat belts and there was a strong smell of marijuana, Sheriff's Office reports said.

The suspects gave deputies permission to search the vehicle and deputies found a pound of packaged marijuana, numerous small bags, a handgun with a scratched-off serial number, jewelry and cell phones. After further investigation, deputies discovered Guerrero was involved in a residential burglary and stole a vehicle on July 4 at 2415 Huron Circle, Kissimmee.

Guerrero was charged with possession of cannabis with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a firearm in the commission of felony and possession of a firearm with an altered serial number, burglary to a dwelling, grand theft, grand theft auto and dealing in stolen property.

Morales was charged with possession of cannabis with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm with an altered serial number.

The suspects were booked into the Osceola County Jail. The investigation is ongoing with additional charges pending.
