Worker killed in industrial accident

On Friday, July 9, at approximately 10:35 a.m., Osceola County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to Disney’s Wide World of Sports Complex at 700 S. Victory Way for a report of a workplace accident.
Upon arrival, deputies spoke with witnesses who told them an electrician with Buena Vista Construction Company – who was later identified as Steven Snyder, 50, of Davenport – was seriously injured while installing a stage. Snyder was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at Florida Hospital Celebration Health, according to Sheriff’s Office reports.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration was notified and Sheriff’s Office detectives are investigating the incident.
