The city of St. Cloud Public Services’ Solid Waste Division began new hours of operation June 21 at the Transfer Station, 2701 Peghorn Way.

The hours for residents to drop off waste materials at the Transfer Station’s drop-off areas have been extended by one hour. Hours are Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday hours remain the same, from 7 a.m. to noon.

Accepted waste materials are household garbage, furniture, carpeting, etc.; metals/white goods (i.e., washer, dryer, refrigerator, stove, air conditioners, etc.); construction and demolition debris; and tires (with a limit of four tires per customer and tires must be off the rims).

The Solid Waste Division staff also reminds customers of the correct placement of garbage and yard waste carts. Carts must be placed curbside on scheduled day by 7 a.m. and no earlier than 6 p.m. the evening before. All carts must be rolled back by the next morning; roll-back charges are $5 each time. Carts must be placed at least three feet from mailboxes and other objects that would block the refuse truck. Items placed beside (outside) the refuse cart are $1 each and the charge will be applied to the utility user’s Orlando Utilities Commission (OUC) monthly bill.
