BECKERMAN - Mr. Richard J. Beckerman, 68, of Saint Cloud, Florida passed away Tuesday, July 13,  2010. Richard was a native of Willoughby, Ohio he was born on September 9, 1941, the son of the late James S. and Margery R.  Beckerman.  Richard was a devoted husband to Judy nee Cagina who predeceased him.  
He was a graduate of Willoughby South High School and proudly served in the U.S. Navy.  Richard resided for the past 20 years in St. Cloud, Florida.  Richard was an avid antique collector and dealer.  Dearest friend to Dody Pakel, George Conklin, Ed Booher, Jimmy Kirchner, Blanchard and Ellen Weaver.  Dear brother to Thomas (Peggy)  of Sarasota, FL, Mary Anne (Kurt) of Hunting Valley, Ohio, and Kathryn B. (Charles) Illuzzi of Rocky River, Ohio.
Friends may call on Richard's family 2:00-4:00 PM Sunday July 18, 2010 at Holopaw Community Center, 8801 Reliant Road Holopaw, FL.

BOWMAN - Hazel J. Fulton Kinney Bowman, 102, of St. Cloud, FL, passed away Sunday, June 13, 2010, at Osceola Health Care Center in St. Cloud. She was born November 3, 1907, in Jackson Township, Ashland County, the daughter of Fern R. and Maude (Smith) Fulton, and was a homemaker. She had attended Ashland College and obtained her teaching certificate.
Along with her first husband, Paul, she was a matron and superintendent of Wayne County Children’s Home for 26 years, retiring in 1968. During that 26 years, they served nearly 600 children. It was a home where the family played together, prayed together and the children learned to want to stay together. Hazel was a member of Eastern Star and Union Grange.
Surviving are children, Richard D. (Ann) Kinney of Wooster, Ronald F. (Carolyn) Kinney of Orrville and Larry D. (Ruby) Kinney of St. Cloud, FL; a step-daughter, Nancy (Richard) Kent of Galion; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a brother, Fern R. Jr. (Kathern) Fulton of Lorain.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul Kinney, on July 18, 1972, and her second husband, Ralph E. Bowman in 1991. Her parents and a brother Virgil S. Fulton, also died previously.
The Rev. Larry Black Officiated the service & burial took place in Wooster Cemetery.

 

DavisTerryDAVIS - Terry Davis, 59, passed away at home in St. Cloud, FL, Thursday, July 8, 2010 with his family at his side. A Maintenance Services Manager with Walt Disney World, Terry was a 2009 Partners in Excellence recipient. He retired after 32 years with GM prior working for Disney.
He is survived by his wife Susan; daughter Jeanette Payne, spouse Donald; son Anthony; step-son David Ault; stepdaughter Miranda Ault; sister Stephanie Gaither; brother Michael Davis, spouse Priscilla; sister Lori Whitten, spouse Larry; and 8 grandchildren. Terry was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Lucy Jeanette; and his sisters, Linda Hackney and Rita Hoshaw.
The family will receive friends from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 17, in the funeral home chapel, followed by a memorial service to celebrate Terry’s life. In lieu the family appreciates donations to Cornerstone Hospice, ATT: Ann Harr, 809 S. Orange Ave, Orlando, FL 32809.

FloydMarionFLOYD - Marion Graves of Kissimmee, Fl. Died Sat. at the age of 101. Marion was a Kissimmee native, born, raised, educated, married and worked in the county.  She traced her roots in Kissimmee back to her grandfather, Edwin Barnes who moved to the area after fighting for the Confederacy in the Civil War.  He was injured helping construct the archway of the county’s historic courthouse.  
Marion’s mother, grace Eleanor Barnes moved with her family from Mt. Washington, Ky. and settled in Kissimmee because it was the end the railroad line!  She met Ross Graves, who ran a hardware store in downtown Kissimmee and the two married and had five children.  Marion was the youngest and was born Dec. 5, 1908.  She remembered riding ponies through downtown Kissimmee and stopping at the lakefront for picnics.  She would reminisce about the days when nobody locked their doors and “Kissimmee was a one horse town.”  
Her family was part of the founding organizers of the First Baptist Church of Kissimmee where Marion sang in the choir and kept the Sunday School rolls for years.   Marion attended Osceola High School and was salutatorian of her class.  She worked for a real estate company and then the Square Deal Feed Store.  She was city clerk for a number of years.  
Marcus Floyd met and courted her with big baskets of fruit during that time.  They later married in 1941 and lived in a house directly behind the historic courthouse until Marcus died in 1971.   During the Depression, Marion had gone to work for the state unemployment claims office as a supervisor and worked there for 30 years, retiring in 1970.  
Marion got to live her final years still in her home with the help of round-the-clock aides that gave her a wonderful quality of life.  As she would say, “I’ve got the best nursing home ever right here in my house.”  
She is survived by a niece, Willa Ross Crescenzo of Lake City, Fl. and her two children as well as a great nephew, Jerry Depew of Oak Ridge, Tn.  
Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday July 13, 2010 at Osceola Memory Gardens Funeral Home in Kissimmee with Rev. Harold C. Epperson officiating, interment to follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Orlando.  Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until time of the services.

HEDGECOCK - Frank Anderson Hedgecock of St. Cloud, FL, passed away July 14, 2010.  He is survived by his wife Genevieve, his daughters; Gwen Crossman of LaGrange, GA, and Suzanne Hedgecock of Orlando, FL, and his son, Andy Hedgecock (Stephanie) of Des Peres, MO.  
He was a member of the St. Cloud Presbyterian Church and was employed by Parks Furniture for twenty-five years.  
Memorial services were held at the St. Cloud Presbyterian Church on July 16, 2010, at 4:00 p.m., with Rev. Stephen E. Graves officiating.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Cloud Presbyterian Church P.O. Box 701334, St. Cloud, FL 34770-1334.

 

PipkinJoycePIPKIN - Joyce Padgett Pipkin, 87 of Kissimmee, passed away Monday, July 12, 2010. A member of a Pioneer Osceola County family she was born in Kissimmee, the daughter of James Padgett and Mayme Hansel Padgett and had been a life long resident of Osceola County. She was a retired technician for Mercury Marine and a member of the First Baptist Church of Kissimmee.
Joyce was preceeded in death by her loving husband Robert Duval Pipkin Sr., parents: Mayme Hansel Padgett and James "Jolly" Padgett, sister: Inez McQuagge and her brothers: Bert L. Padgett and Edgar Padgett.
Joyce is survived by her children Brenda Pipkin Bobroff and husband Michael L. Bobroff of Kissimmee and Robert D.(Bud) Pipkin Jr. of Versailles, Indiana; sister: Lessie Burton of Kissimmee; grandchildren: Robert Michael Bobroff & his wife Jenny of Windermere, FL., Michelle Bobroff Bullock and husband Shawn of Kissimmee, FL, and Melissa Pipkin McIntosh of St. Cloud, FL.; great grandchildren: Madison Rose Bobroff, Paige Emma Bobroff, Ryan Zachary Bullock, Jeremiah McIntosh and Brandon McIntosh.
The family received friends on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Conrad & Thompson Funeral Home. A graveside service to celebrate the life of Joyce P. Pipkin was held Thursday, July 15, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in the Christus Garden at Osceola Memory Gardens Cemetery.

RiveraJoeRIVERA - In Memory of Joe Rivera, of Kissimmee, Florida who passed away Sunday, July 11, 2010 at his home after a long battle with cancer.  Mr. Rivera  was born in Santurce, Puerto Rico, April 5, 1955 and has lived in the Central Florida Area for many years.  He was charismatic, and had an enthusiastic attitude that everybody loved.  
Joe is survived by his wife, Ana, his sons, Richard, Michael, and David: his mother, Miguelina Gonzalez; his brother, Wilfredo, and his sister sister Wallezca and his nieces and nephews.  
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, July 17, 2010 at 10 a.m. at First Christian Church in Kissimmee, 415 North Main Street in Kissimmee, with Mr. Ross C. Pepper III officiating. Interment will follow in Osceola Memory Gardens Cemetery.  
The last words Joe said was "That everyone acknowledge God"
