Osceola County Sheriff’s Office detectives July 1 arrested Joseph A. Fuentes, 19, and Robert Jason Taylor, 20, both of Kissimmee, in connection with an armed robbery at a Days Inn.

The investigation began June 16 at 1:48 a.m. when Osceola County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the Days Inn, at 5840 W. U.S. Highway 192, Kissimmee. Upon arrival, deputies spoke with the victim who stated he was walking to his room when two black males approached him at gunpoint and demanded he open the door to his room.

The victim told the suspects he did not have a room key with him so the suspects walked with the victim to the front desk. Once inside, the victim jumped the counter and told the front desk clerk to call 911. The suspects tried to see where the victim was behind the desk and then fled the area.

After further investigation, deputies identified Fuentes, of 153 Ivy Lane, and Taylor, of 5820 W. U.S. Highway 192, as the suspects.

They were charged with attempted armed robbery, aggravated assault with a firearm, false imprisonment, kidnapping and use of a firearm during the commission of a felony. They were booked into the Osceola County Jail.
