Cypress Cove goes for skinny dip record

Many Americans will spend the July 4th week celebrating the country’s birthday. Others will take a page out of Norman Rockwell’s world, and in their birthday suits celebrate their independence — from clothing — at the 2nd annual Guinness World Records “Skinny Dip Event.”
Cypress Cove Nudist Resort & Spa, 4425 Pleasant Hill Road, is a local host site for this event that last year took place at 139 locations with 13,674 skinny dippers under the auspices of the American Association for Nude Recreation (www.AANR.com), the contract association with Guinness World Records.
The event is set for Saturday, July 10, during an open house from noon to 4 p.m. The actual record attempt will be at 3 p.m.
In conformance with stated rules, all participants to be counted must be completely nude during the skinny-dip. Efforts will be made to accommodate first-time skinny-dippers. As with all Guinness World Records events, all record attempts must be verified by a designated “member in standing” of the local community.
