Waits

On June 24, at approximately 2:55 p.m., Osceola County Sheriff’s Office deputies with the Narcotics Enforcement Team were working undercover in the Marydia area of north Kissimmee, where they completed a drug purchase from Arnell Randolph Waits, 25, a registered felon.

After NET deputies left the area and as patrol deputies were preparing to arrest Waits, the suspect ran behind some houses and onto Garden Street where a patrol deputy was traveling. Waits attempted to jump over the patrol car, which was moving at a slow rate of speed, but instead ran into it. Waits broke his leg and was transported to Osceola Regional Medical Center.

Waits will be charged with sale and delivery of cocaine, with the possibility of additional charges.

The Florida Highway Patrol is conducting a traffic accident investigation.
