A Kissimmee man who told a woman he was “a cop” Saturday and exposed a gun he had in his waistband after he witnessed her family member speeding down the road was arrested and charged with impersonating an officer, Osceola County Sheriff’s Office reports said.

At about 8:59 p.m., Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a Wilderness Trail home in Kissimmee in reference to an armed disturbance. Upon arrival, deputies spoke with a witness who said her brother-in-law was driving fast in the neighborhood. While in her driveway, a neighbor, identified as Walter Diolosa, 34, of 3352 Wilderness Trail, approached them and told the brother-in-law to stop speeding.

After she apologized, she told deputies that Diolosa said, “I’m a cop,” and then pulled up his shirt showing them a black gun, reports said. As Diolosa walked away, she said he told them, “I’m a cop and you guys can’t be speeding. Next time I’m going to write you a ticket.”

Deputies spoke with Diolosa who told them he witnessed someone driving very fast through the neighborhood. He said he approached them and the witness and her brother-in-law began yelling at him, so, he showed them he was carrying a gun, reports said. Diolosa allowed the deputy to check the gun, which was in his home. The gun had a round in the chamber and six in the magazine. A check through the system showed the gun was stolen from the Kissimmee Police Department in 1994. Diolosa did not have a concealed weapons permit for the gun he said he got 16 years ago as an exchange for services at a local flea market, Sheriff’s Office officials said.

Based on the information, deputies arrested Diolosa and charged him with falsely impersonating an officer and having a concealed firearm without a permit. He was booked into the Osceola County Jail.
