BallmanFrankBALLMAN -  Frank Ballman, 62, died May 8. A memorial service will be held June 19, 11:00 AM, Peace United Methodist, 13502 Town Loop Blvd.
His wife, Swanee, and children Tara, Shane and Andrew survive him.

 

 

BrackenAnneBRACKEN - Anne R. Roberson Bracken, 69, of Kissimmee, passed away Sunday, June 13, 2010 following a lengthy illness.  Born October 13, 1940 in Orlando, Anne was a lifelong resident of Osceola County and the daughter of Joy Krause Roberson and the late Roscoe Roberson.  Anne was a retired Executive Secretary with Tupperware.  She was a member of the Christian Life Church in Kissimmee.  
In addition to her mother, Anne is survived by her husband, Tom Bracken of Kissimmee; sons, Mark and David and Michael; step-children, Regina, Carol and Chuck; brother, John Roberson of Holopaw, FL; 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.  
Visitation will be 11 am to 1 pm, Saturday, June 19 at Osceola Memory Gardens Funeral Home Chapel in Kissimmee where funeral services are scheduled for 1 PM.  Interment will follow in the Christus Garden at Osceola Memory Gardens Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to Conerstone Hospice Foundation Orange/Osceola, 108 America St., Orlando, FL 32801-9951.

CumbieBettyCUMBIE - Elizabeth Anne “Betty” Cumbie, 90, died Monday, June 14, 2010.  Betty was born and lived her entire life in Orlando.  She is predeceased by her loving husband, Fred and her sister, Sally Ruth Lipsey.  She is survived by her daughter, Judie (Dennis) Berry and sons, Fred (JoAnn) Cumbie and Rick (Ramona) Cumbie and her four granddaughters, Shannon, Nichelle, Erika and Gabrielle and three great-granddaughters, Morgan, Courtney and Ryland.
A Memorial Service will be held June 18, 2010 at 3:00 pm at First United Methodist Church of Orlando.  Conrad & Thompson Funeral Home in Kissimmee is handling the arrangements.

RigsbyBillyRIGSBY - Reverend Billy Ray Rigsby, 73 of St. Cloud went home to be with our Lord and Savior on June 10, 2010. He was born on August 5, 1936 in Attalla, Alabama and moved to Kissimmee in 1958. He was an Air Force Veteran of the Korean War, a member of Orange Blossom Lodge # 80 Free and Accepted Masons in Kissimmee and also served as the Purchasing Agent for the City of Kissimmee in the 1960's. He surrendered to preach at age 13 and served in the ministry for 61 years both as an Evangelist and as Pastor of three churches: Lock Haven Baptist Church in Kissimmee, Gant Lake Baptist Church in Webster, FL and was the Founding and current pastor of Eastern Avenue Baptist Church in St. Cloud.
In recognition of his outstanding achievements in the areas of pastoral leadership, church administration, missions and Christian education he was awarded an Honorary Degree of Doctor of Divinity by the Emmaus Baptist College.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Emma Jean Woodall Rigsby; daughters, Lisa (Mike)Whitman of Webster, FL, Kathy (Ray) Turman of Elko, NV and Anna Rae (Jeff) Miller of Inverness, FL; brother Earl Rigsby of Hartselle, AL; 3 Grandsons; 1 Granddaughter and a multitude of friends and loving church family.
To God be the Glory, many lives have been changed during the course of his sixty one years in the ministry.” And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose”. Romans 8:28.
Funeral services for Brother Billy were held at Eastern Avenue Baptist Church in St Cloud on Sunday, June 13, 2010 at 11:00 A. M. with Rev. Jim Callen, Rev Herb Kidwell & Rev Robert Bright, officiating. Interment followed in the family plot at Rose Hill Cemetery in Kissimmee with Rev Glen Koger, officiating. Presentation of the Flag was done by Travis Taylor US Coast Guard. Pallbearers were Jimmy Taylor, Steve Tucker, Mike Egitto, Colin Hall, Scott Toms, Scott Abshier, Duane Heyne and Monttagne Ogden. Honorary Pallbearers were Fellow Ministers and Deacons who served with Brother Billy over the years. Billy Ray Rigsby, D.D. left his earthly home on June 10, 2010 to join his family in heaven. Transported by angels, he is visiting with his brothers, Peter, James and John. Singing in his melodic voice, dancing down the streets of gold in his perfect body he is rejoicing that his name is written in the Lambs Book of Life. His new residence is at the corner of Glory and Halleluia Ave.

SEXTON - John Howard Sexton passed away in Melbourne, FL on June 15, 2010 at the age of 93. He was born on April 25, 1917 in Boyd County, Ashland, Kentucky one of seven children. He was preceded in death by his parents John Breckenridge and Hester Holbrook Sexton and six siblings.
Mr. Sexton was a farmer, coal miner and saw miller. He worked for C&O railroad and owned Sexton Trucking Company in Kentucky. He moved his family to Kissimmee, FL in 1955 from Russell, Kentucky. He operated the Standard Oil Station on Emmett St. in Kissimmee, across from the courthouse. Later he worked at Walt Disney World as a security guard for several years, retiring in 1972.
Mr. Sexton is survived by his wife of 70 years Evelyn Pierce Sexton, sons, John Vernon Sexton, Timothy Eugene Sexton, daughter Carole Veal, 2 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted on Saturday June 19, 2010 at 1:00 PM in the Good Shepherd section of Osceola Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until service time that same day in the funeral home chapel.

STEVENS - Lindsay M. Stevens Jr. age 75 of Knoxville, passed away Thursday, June 3, 2010 at Park West Hospital. Mr. Stevens was a veteran of the US Army and a civil engineer.  Mr. Stevens was preceded in death by adoptive parents, Maggie Sue (Venters) and Lindsay M. Stevens, Sr of Kissimmee, FL.
Survivors include his children and spouses, Gary and C.J.  Stevens, Norris,  Nancy Panico, Defiance, OH,  Mary Sue and Ron Jordan, Lenoir City, John Stevens, Ohio, Lindsay M. and Laurie Stevens, III,  Knoxville, and Kathy Moore, Knoxville; brother and sister in-law, Robert and Dorothy Martin, Loughman, FL; sisters and brother in-law, Barbara Lois  and Clarence Addison, Lakeland, FL, Judy and Jim Crutchfield, Indian Atlantic, FL, Dorothy and Jim Burnset, Dade City, FL; 11 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren; mother of his children, Mary K. Stevens. Lenoir City.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 P.M. June 14th in the Rotunda of the East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, Lyons View Pike, Knoxville. The Rev. Dr. Jack Jackson and Rev. Dick DeMerchant officiated. Interment  followed with full military honors provided by the Loudon County Veterans Honor Guard. Contributions in memory of Mr. Stevens may be made to the Building Fund of First Baptist Church, 2085 Simpson Rd. E., Lenoir City, TN 37772.
