PHS football camp

Poinciana High football coach Michael Timpson will hold the Eagle Football Camp for children ages 7-18 Monday through Friday.

Other camp dates are June 21-25; June 28-July 2; July 5-9; July 12-16 and July 26-30.

The camps run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The fee is $100 per week. Half-day camps run from 9 a.m. to noon or noon to 3 p.m. for a fee of $50.

Players should bring shorts, T-shirts, cleats and sneakers and lunch.

The non-contact camp stresses fundamentals, specific position skills and conditioning plus instructions on teamwork and life skills. Campers also will participate in other sports, such as basketball, softball and kickball, as well.

Harmony FB, cheer

Harmony Youth Football & Cheer will have physicals June 19 at Harmony High from 9 a.m. to noon.

Completed paperwork must include two copies of the full 2009-10 report card in addition to a copy of the birth certificate, Pop Warner information form, Pop Warner physical form and a player contract.

A mandatory weigh-in will be July 16 at Greensides beginning at 6 p.m. Players should wear shorts and flip flops.

Opening day festivities begin July 31. Practice starts Aug. 1, with a Kickoff Classic slated for Aug. 21.

Golf camp

Royal St. Cloud Golf Links is hosting two summer golf camps for youth ages 6-15.

PGA professionals Doug Holloway and Ernie Cruz will instruct juniors on all aspects of the game. Session 1 begins Tuesday and session 2 begins July 6.

Each session is from 8 to 10 a.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays over a three-week period for a total of 18 hours of instruction. Cost is $110. Call 407-891-7010 or e-mail doug6@pga.com for more information.

Florida Flight

The Florida Flight return to action at the Kissimmee Civic Center Sunday at 3:30 p.m. against the Decatur Court Kings.

Tickets, $10, are available at the Civic Center box office.

The Flight, 2-3, will attempt to end a two-game losing streak. The team lost to World Basketball Association leader Jacksonville, 134-105, June 4, and at Marietta, 113-101, last Saturday.


Poinciana tourney

Poinciana Hoops Inc. will host an AAU boys basketball tournament June 18-20 at the Poinciana High and Horizon Middle School gyms.

The fee is $295.

Check in for 13-U, 14-U, 15-U, 16-U and Senior teams is June 18 at Poinciana High from 6 to 8 p.m.

Check in for 12-U teams at Horizon Middle School is 7:30 to 10 a.m.

All teams must bring their AAU roster and age verification documents. All players must be AAU registered.

KSA swimming

The Kissimmee Swimming Association is accepting new swimmers.

Father’s Day golf

Kissimmee Bay Country Club will host the 21st Annual Father’s Day Golf Tournament June 20 at 8 a.m.

The $45 fee includes all fees, lunch, awards and a 5-by-7 photo.

FCW at Heritage

Florida Championship Wrestling stops at Osceola Heritage Park July 9 at 8 p.m.

The event will feature a meet and greet with Dusty Rhodes, Cody Rhodes and Goldust.  There will be eight matches, including Cody Rhodes and Goldust.

The FCW’s Divas, Serena, Savannah and Naomi Night also will be in action. Tickets for the event are available at www.fcwwrestling.com.
