Board-certified urologist Dr. Axel W. Anderson, IV,  who has served as chairman of the Department of Urology and as a member of the board of directors of Orlando Regional Medical Center, has joined the medical staff of St. Cloud Regional Medical Center and is now accepting new patients.
His practice, Urology Associates of St. Cloud, is scheduled to open June 14, at 2900 17th St., Suite 5, and appointments can be made in advance by calling 407-891-2951 and leaving a message.
Anderson graduated from Vanderbilt University in 1978 with a bachelor of arts degree in Psychology/Zoology. After earning his medical degree at Ross University, he undertook his residency in general surgery at University Hospital in Jacksonville. He then completed his urology residency at the University of Connecticut Health Center, where he was named chief resident. Anderson earned his board certification in urology in 1992.
“Dr. Anderson has been an active leader in the medical community of Central Florida,” Rebecca Brewer, CEO of St. Cloud Regional Medical Center, said. “He brings to St. Cloud particular expertise in the leading-edge treatment of female incontinence, male sexual dysfunction and prostatic diseases. We are excited to bring the people of St. Cloud and our surrounding communities a specialist of his caliber.”
Anderson is a member of the American and Florida Urological Associations and Florida Medical Association.
