On May 15, Grand Master Harry Hamzy, Sensei Richard Viggiano and his daughter, Raven Viggiano, traveled to Connecticut to compete in the Hamzy School of Self Defense 50th Annual Karate Championship Tournament.
Competitors came from all over New England and Florida. Viggiano captured third in the Black Belt mens’ division and Raven Viggiano captured third in pee wee advanced girls, both qualifying for the United Ketsugo and Karate Association Tournament of the Champions held in Torrington, Conn., in September.
Following the tournament, Richard Viggiano tested and passed for the second-degree degree black belt and Raven for apprentice black belt.
