The arrests of two Kissimmee men Tuesday cleared more than 10 smash-and-grab burglaries in Osceola County, Osceola County Sheriff's Office detectives reported.

All the burglaries in question were similar in that the front doors of businesses were broken with a heavy object. In most cases, money from the cash registers was stolen. The most recent break-in occurred at Camping Connection, at 9140 W. U.S. Highway 192, Kissimmee. Deputies found a rock inside the business that they believe was used to shatter the front glass door. No merchandise was taken.

On Tuesday, detectives charged 39-year-old Geoffrey Richard Thompson, already a registered felon, with possession of cocaine and resisting without violence and 32-year-old Richard Vazquez with unoccupied burglary, criminal mischief, possession of cocaine and resisting without violence.

Thompson and Vazquez cooperated with detectives and, based on the similarity of the crimes, investigators linked them to numerous burglaries in Osceola County. The information also was sent to surrounding jurisdictions that might have similar cases.

Additional burglary charges are pending against Thompson, of 4121 W. Vine St., and Vazquez, of 1100 Murat Place.
