Forget  those big summer blockbusters like Iron Man 2, Toy Story 3 and Robin Hood.
You can travel back in time and see some real movie classics this summer on the big screen.
The Garden Theatre in Winter Garden starts its Summer Movie Series June 17 with Rebel Without a Cause, and the hits just keep on coming after that each Thursday, all summer long.
Each Thursday night at 7 p.m., there is another classic film from Hollywood's Golden Era. You can see: Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's, July 1; Claudette Colbert and Gary Cooper in It Happened One Night, July 8; Jack Lemmon, Marilyn Monroe and Tony Curtis in Some Like it Hot, July 15; Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman in Casablanca, July 22; and Gene Kelly and Debbie Reynolds in Singin' in the Rain, Sept. 16.
Other Thursday night classics include: A Place in the Sun, June 24; The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, July 29; Cool Hand Luke, Aug. 5; To Have and to Have Not, Aug. 12; Strangers on a Train, Aug. 19; Roman Holiday, Aug. 26; Shane, Sept. 2;  and His Gal Friday, Sept. 9.
Friday night is family night with screenings of: Goonies, June 18; The Phantom of the Opera, June 25; The Last Mimzy, July 2; School of Rock, July 9; The Princess Bride, July 16; Shrek, July 23; The Wizard of Oz, Aug. 6; The Sound of Music, Aug. 13; Big, Aug. 20; and The Spiderwick Chronicles, Aug. 27.
Saturday is cult classics with screenings  of:  The Quiet Man, June 19; Monty Python's Holy Grail, June 26; Highland, July 3; Spaceballs, July 10; This is Spinal Tap, July 17; Raising Arizona, July 24; Young Frankenstein, July 31; Enter the Dragon, Aug. 7; Attack of the Killer Tomatoes, Aug. 14; Office Space,   Aug. 21; and Plan 9 From Outer Space, Aug. 28.
Tuesday mornings are for youngsters beginning June 15 with screenings that include: Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs, Charlotte's Web, Kung Fu Panda and Stuart Little.
Tickets for the 10 a.m. children's series are $1.
Tickets for the classic films are $5 each and a special $50 summer movie pass is also available that is good for three people, for all 36 features.
All of the classic and family night films start at 7 p.m.
Admission to all screenings is $5 and tickets are sold  at gardentheatre.org or at the box office, beginning two hours prior to show time.
The Garden Theatre is in the downtown area of Winter Garden on Plant Street. The theater  is operated by the Winter Garden Heritage Foundation,  a not-for-profit community organization which works to preserve local history and offers cultural theatric experiences.
The theatre restoration project, which began in 2003, showcases the  atmospheric theatre which was built  in a Mediterranean Revival style. venue. The former single screen movie theater hosts live theatre, dance and music, cinema viewings, various community events and educational programs.
