Firefighters from the Kissimeme Fire Department participated in the Scott Firefighter Combat Challenge Saturday at Old Towne, on U.S. Highway 192. Kissimmee was the fourth stop on a 25-city national trou for the 2010 competition.

Firefighers competed in five events: the five-story stair climb with a 45-pound hose, a hose hoist, forcible entry, a hose advance and victim rescue. The events, which participants had to complete while wearing full gear, are designd to test the firefighters' resilience and agility.
