The suspicious device found during Tuesday's bomb threat in the St. Cloud Walmart was determined to be a bottle wrapped in tape, filled with a liquid that is being tested to see if it is a volatile substance.

After evacuating the Walmart, the Bank of America property where the device was found, Murphy USA and Sonic Tuesday afternoon, the Orange County Sheriff's Office bomb squad cleared the area and took a sample of the liquid in the device. Business managers were allowed back in their respective buildings at about 7:15 p.m. that night.

St. Cloud police are investigating two bomb threats, one targeting the St. Cloud Regional Medical Center earlier that morning and the second made to the St. Cloud Walmart manager, threatening the store. The only direct link between the two calls is the fact that both were male, Police Sgt. Boyd Graham said. Still, the fact that there were two bomb threats Tuesday raises questions.

“It would be very coincidental if the two were not related,” Graham said.
