A Kissimmee man, who said he fought off three robbers demanding money from him at knifepoint, was arrested for falsifying the police report.

David Geraldo Sanchez, 26, told deputies Monday night, shortly after 9 p.m., that he was riding his bicycle from Kissimmee View Mobile Home Park when three people approached him from the woods and demanded money with a knife. Sanchez suffered minor injuries as he fought them off, he told deputies.

Deputies found the three suspects based on Sanchez’s detailed description and Sanchez identified them in a photo lineup. However, detectives determined that Sanchez made up the story as they questioned all four people at the Sheriff’s Office. Sanchez then admitted that he falsified the report because he was angry with the men for yelling at him and asking for money.

Based on the information, Sanchez, of 4994 Park Forest Loop, was arrested for filing a false report and booked into the Osceola County Jail on a $500 bond.
