Jamal Brown

Brown

Jamal “Finger” Brown, 26, wanted for first-degree murder in a double homicide in Poinciana, was arrested in Memphis, Tenn. last week.

Brown, of Orlando, is the last of five men arrested in the execution-style deaths of 26-year-old Tamiqua Taylor and 23-year-old Dustin Freeman, killed by gunshots to their heads Oct. 4, according to Polk County Sheriff's Office reports. The five invaded the Poinciana home of 29-year-old Wilkins Merilan, beating him up, torturing him with boiling water and shooting him twice before leaving him for dead.

The other four accused of involvement in the incident were arrested later that month, but Brown had evaded authorities. Deputy marshals with the U.S. Marshals Service Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force received information that Brown may be in the Memphis area.

They passed information to their counterparts in the Memphis office, who found Brown and arrested him without incident. He initially was booked into the Shelby County Division of Correction, to be extradited to Polk County.

Apart from two counts of first-degree murder, all five accused – including Orlando residents 38-year-old Joshua Bryson, 40-year-old Andre “Dre” Brown, 28-year-old Major “Mate” Griffin and 28-year-old Robert McCloud, nicknamed “Bam,” of Apopka – face multiple charges.
