The Center Children’s Theatre will present Disney’s “Mulan, Jr.” Friday through Sunday on the main stage of the Osceola Center for the Arts.
Based on the 1998 Disney film Mulan, this stage adaptation takes audience members back to the legendary, story-telling days of ancient China.
The times are: Friday at 7 p.m.; Saturday at 2 and 7 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.
According to the story, the Huns have invaded, and it is up to the misfit Mulan and her mischievous sidekick Mushu to save the emperor. “Mulan, Jr.” is described at a heartwarming celebration of culture, honor and a fighting spirit. Musical numbers include “Reflection,” “Honor to Us All” and “I’ll Make a Man Out of You”.
Music and lyrics were written by Matthew Wilder, David Zippel, Stephen Schwartz, Jeanine Tesori and Alexa Junge. The show will be directed by Stephanie Day and Jennifer Henderson and will be performed by young actors ages 10 to14 who are involved with the Center Children’s Theatre program.
