Suspect still being sought for home invasion PDF Print E-mail

Kissimmee Police Department detectives are still searching for 24-year-old Joshua Marrero, the suspect in a home invasion that occurred May 8.

According to police reports, Marrero broke into his friend’s Morgan Pointe Boulevard home Sunday morning by breaking the patio door with a bat. The suspect then threatened the 28-year-old victim and reportedly struck the family dog with the bat, took a television and left the home. No one was injured during the altercation.

A Joshua Marrero surrendered to authorities Monday but it turned out he was not the man sought in the incident. In addition, the picture circulated by authorities and thought to be the suspect was the wrong Joshua Marrero.

The detective in the case met with Marrero who was not the person sought and explained that his name had been given by the victim as being involved in the incident. The victim later identified that the wrong Marrero had been arrested for the crime.
