Kissimmee police have arrested a couple for a smash-and-grab burglary and possibly several other similar burglaries and thefts that police said have become a growing problem in the city.

On March 22, an anonymous tipster reported that Danielle Lockard, 24, had many stolen items in her apartment at 2201 Cascades Blvd., and that 27-year-old Gerry Mansur, who also lives at that address, had stolen from local businesses. Kissimmee Police Department’s force deployment unit followed the tip and started conducting surveillance on the two.

On March 31, detectives watched Mansur break the door to the Heron Lakes Apartment office and enter, taking a 60-inch Panasonic television, valued at $1,600. Mansur put the TV in a four-door Mitsubishi Gallant and sped away, police stated.

Detectives stopped the vehicle and recovered the TV, arresting Mansur and Lockard, who was driving the car. During interviews, the two gave detectives information on six other burglaries, charges for which are pending.

Mansur has so far been charged with burglary to a dwelling, possession of burglary tools and grand theft. Lockard was arrested on an outstanding warrant for conspiracy to commit burglary and grand theft. Both were transported to the Osceola County Jail, Mansur on a $4,150 bond and Lockard under a $1,150 bond.

The month of March saw a spike in smash-and-grab burglaries to businesses throughout the city with thieves stealing electronic equipment, police said.
