It’s Mother’s Day weekend and chances are mom won’t be making dinner Sunday.

According to the National Restaurant Association, more than six out of ten Americans will go to a restaurant on Mother’s Day.

There are lots of places in Central Florida to take mom for brunch or dinner on her day. Here are a few suggestions, plus some other options for Mother’s Day.


Signature by the Lake in downtown Kissimmee returns with another one of it’s special day events. The Mother’s Day Brunch is $22.95 for adults, $9.95 for children under 10.

The brunch features a complimentary mimosa, bloody Mary or champagne. Brunch selections include seasonal fruit with yogurt dip, assorted Danish, muffins and bagels; chef made buttermilk pancakes and omelets; scrambled eggs, grilled Virginia ham; imported and domestic cheeses, organic fresh greens, chilled fresh asparagus, crab and seafood cakes with Cajon remoulade dip, broiled mahi-mahi in lemon buerre blanc sauce, a pasta bar, roasted turkey with traditional stuffing, carving stations with Texas steaks and prime rib of beef. The brunch also includes side stations and a dessert table with New York style cheese cakes, chocolate mousse, assorted cake, bread pudding and more. The children’s station features chicken fingers and hot dogs.

You can have dinner with Wynonna Judd – sort of.

The country star appears live at the Silver Spurs Arena but you can start mom’s day with a special dinner from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. The dinner package includes a traditional Mother’s Day feast, with a complimentary glass of wine or beer, flower and Hershey’s kiss for mom for $18.95 per person. The dinner is at the Exhibition Center at Osceola Heritage Park.

The concert follows at the arena. Ticket prices for the concert are $45, $65 and $85. Call 321-697-3333 for more information.

Mama Romano’s Italian restaurant and pizzeria in St. Cloud has a Mother’s Day Italian/Spanish dinner and show from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

The dinner includes the Viva Italia Dinner Show with Italian-Spanish music by a ensemble of singers and performers.

The menu features salad, garlic rolls, choice of lasagna, eggplant parmigiana, chicken parmigiana, rigatoni alla vodka, baked ziti or antipasto entree. Soft drink or coffee and dessert also are included in the $25 price (plus tax and tip). Call 321-352-8200 for reservations.

The Brevard Zoo will offer free admission to all moms on Mother’s Day. Moms just need to show proof of child at the ticket booth to receive free admission.

In addition, the zoo will host its first Mother’s Day Brunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Nyami River Lodge overlooking the Africa savanna with giraffe and antelope. The brunch is $20 for zoo member children ages 2 to 12 and $30 for zoo member adults. Non-member prices are $25 for children ages 2 to 12 and $35 for adults. Registration is required. Moms and their families will be greeted by several zoo animals before the brunch. The brunch menu includes including chicken piccata with bowtie pasta, zucchini lasagna, seafood scampi, roast beef carving station, artichoke salad, Cajun shrimp salad on grilled polenta rounds, omelet station, sausage, bacon, potatoes, pancakes, assorted fresh berry tarts, Danish, coffee cake, gourmet brownies, coffee, tea and juices. Moms and dads will can enjoy a mimosa station.

You can take mom to the Lakeridge Winery & Vineyards for Jazz on the Vineyard Green today and Sunday. This two-day outdoor event will feature live  jazz and award-winning Lakeridge Wines. The event will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. A $2 donation will be accepted at the gate to benefit the Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida.

Complimentary winery tours and wine tasting will be held throughout the festival. There will be a variety of food and beverages for purchase and the Lakeridge Winery Gift Shop will be offering specials. Seating will be available, but guests are welcome to bring their own chairs and blankets.

Discovery Cove at SeaWorld has a special Mother’s Day Escape package. The day includes a “love note” delivered by an Atlantic bottlenose dolphin on a keepsake buoy.

In addition, the special Mother’s Day package features Crabtree & Evelyn La Source spa essentials gift basket, photo and frame, champagne and a private cabana. Package prices are in addition to park admission and require the purchase of at least one dolphin-swim, which start at $199 per person, plus tax.

Fiorella Cucina Toscana will be serving their Mother’s Day brunch with a menu from executive chef Robert Mason and his culinary team. The $39.95 adult menu includes an antipasti station, made-to-order entree creations from the open kitchen, skillet display station and a dolce station. Seatings are at 10:30 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 1:30 p.m.

Morton’s The Steakhouse has a Mother’s Day menu featuring the Morton salad or Caesar salad, a choice of entree selections including single cut filet mignon, salmon fillet or colossal shrimp Alexander; choice of vegetable or potato and crème brulee or chocolate mousse for dessert.
