Despite tough economic times, the Harmony Development Company has made a donation to the Osceola County School District to better the quality of the lives of children it serves.
Harmony Community School will be getting a Little League regulation baseball field donated by Harmony Development Company, which will be designing and building the sports facility on the school's campus. Construction of the field is anticipated to occur between June and August 2010, while school is out of session.
The field will have a stationary backstop; a portable outfield fence for baseball and softball flexibility; covered team dugouts; a clay infield; and the field will be designed to meet Little League standards.
The field also will be designed to allow for future fenced and covered bleachers and will be positioned in such a way that the present multi-use field will still provide for soccer and other sport play.
The Harmony community will provide the necessary maintenance for the field at its expense and Harmony residents will be able to schedule the use of the field, if available, outside of normal school hours for recreational play and organized team play.
“The Harmony Development Company continues to set the bar for how developers can support children and enhance education in the communities they serve,” said Superintendent Dr. Michael Grego.
