St. Cloud Mayor Donna Hart and several local business leaders will host a Financial Health Fair Saturday from noon until 4 p.m., at the Marina Building, 1104 Lakeshore Blvd.
The Financial Health Fair project began Friday, April 9, when Hart met with local financial/business leaders in an effort to help improve on the city’s economic development. Hart then requested that the St. Cloud City Council co-sponsor the event by allowing use of the City’s Marina Building. Once approved, coordination between the city and the local organizations began.
“This is a very good way to kick-start a process that in the end will benefit St. Cloud as a whole,” said Hart. “The fair will help promote the financial well-being of our city. I am excited about this first venture with the public. In the near future, we will start concentrating on our business recruitment and retention efforts.”
Informational sessions will be offered by several local business/financial groups during the Financial Health Fair, including:
• Osceola County Association of Realtors. Topic: A consumer version of the housing market update, including consumer information on the Home Affordable Foreclosure Alternatives (HAFA) Program.
•  Fairwinds Credit Union - Topic: Small-business loans.
• CenterState Bank Central Florida, N.A. - Topic: How to use and not abuse credit.
The Financial Health Fair is free and open to the public. Directional signs will be posted around the St. Cloud Main Street Program’s Smoke-n-Blues, Bikes & BBQ event Saturday.
