Harmony offers summer day camp

The Harmony Institute in Harmony is offering children ages 8-13 a summer day camp experience at the Institute’s Spirit Farm, located behind Harmony High School and the Osceola County Fire Station #54.
Two two-week sessions – one in July and one in August – will provide children with an enriching day camp experience that focuses on Florida’s heritage. Activities will include gardening, animal tracking, animal care, horseback riding, crafts, preparing nature collection boxes, team sports and reading.
Computers and video games will not be available, with the goal being to expose children to the natural world, helping them to develop an appreciation for our area’s history and heritage while developing environmental awareness, cultivating a respect for diversity; enhancing teamwork skills; increasing physical activity; learning healthy habits; deepening an interest in science, the arts and language.
The Harmony Institute Summer Day Camp is limited to 12 children per session, so early registration is suggested.
All activities will be coordinated and led by a certified Osceola County biology teacher and the Harmony Institute’s program coordinator. Cost is $380 for each two-week session, as follows:
First Session: July 5-16, 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
Second Session: Aug. 2-13, 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
