Sexual Battery Suspect Composite

Composite of suspect

A man who tried to rape a Kissimmee woman while attempting to break into her home is still on the run, Kissimmee police said.

The victim was outside her apartment in the Chelsea Square complex around 12:45 a.m. Thursday morning when she heard a noise from the front window of the apartment. She investigated and noticed a stranger trying to gain entry into the apartment, specifically where her 7-year-old daughter and 4-year-old niece were sleeping.

She yelled at the man that she was going to call the police. As she turned back to the apartment, he pulled her down and tried to sexually assault her.

The woman was able to get away by kneeing him in the groin area. The man left the area as the victim called police.

The victim saw the suspect in the complex again later that afternoon, at 4:30 p.m. Residents tried to apprehend the suspect, but he fled. Kissimmee police set up a perimeter, searching for the man with a K-9 unit and the help of the Osceola County Sheriff's Office helicopter.

They did not find him. The department will increase patrols in an effort to find him, an agency spokeswoman stated.

The victim described the suspect as a Hispanic male about 20 years old, 5 feet 6 inches tall and 160 pounds, with black spiky hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a black T-shirt with a dragon logo across the front, black baggy pants and black sneakers, along with headphones and diamond stud earrings. He also was highly intoxicated during the first incident, the victim told police.
