Lanier

Lanier

David Jonathan Lanier, 35, of Kissimmee, wanted by authorities for DUI manslaughter in connection with a fatal vehicle crash on Old Canoe Creek Road in St. Cloud on July 9 turned himself in April 23 at the Osceola County Jail and was being held on $20,000 bond.

Investigators with the St. Cloud Police Department’s traffic homicide unit determined that in the crash, which occurred just north of West New Nolte Road, Lanier had struck pedestrian Richard Klose, who died at the scene. During the investigation, blood was taken from Lanier and later sent for analysis.

Results from the blood test revealed that Lanier had cocaine and the prescription medication Xanax in his system, for which he did not have a prescription.

The Orange-Osceola County State Attorney’s Office issued a warrant for Lanier’s arrest on April 13.
