District water polo
The Osceola and Gateway water polo teams compete at the District 3 tournament today at Winter Park.
The Osceola boys meet University at 12:30 p.m. That winner meets the Dr. Phillips-Boone winner for the championship at 4 p.m.
The Osceola girls meet Dr. Phillips at 9 a.m. That winner plays the Gateway-Boone winner for the championship at 3 p.m. District champions advance to the regional round next week.

Overdrive sale
The Osceola Overdrive travel fastpitch softball organization will hold a yard sale and car wash today from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at All Financial Services, 4178 S. Orange Blossom Trail, across from Good Samaritan Village.

KUA track
The city of Kissimmee Athletics Division offers its junior track program, sponsored by KUA,  May 17 through June 25, at Gateway High.
Children ages 6-17 are eligible. Practices are held Mondays and Wednesdays,  and meets are held Friday. Practices and meets are held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Register by calling 407-518-2504. Registration also will be held on site May 17 at 5:30 p.m.

Murphy Classic
Sheriff Bob Hansell will host the 27th E.P. Murphy Golf Classic May 8 at Kissimmee Bay Country Club.
The event honors former Sheriff E.P. “Kayo” Murphy and his 30 years of service as sheriff of Osceola County. Last year, the event raised more than $10,000 for the Sheriff's Adventure Camp. Cost per player is $70 and a corporate sponsorship (team of four and tee sponsor) is $400.
The Sheriff's Adventure Camp is a program begun in 1995, which encourages at-risk youth to stay in school and build positive relationships with law enforcement and the community. Every summer approximately 130 children ages 10-15 participate in the program.

Education golf
The Education Foundation of Osceola County is hosting its second Tri-Golfathon May 15 at Kissimmee Bay Country Club.
The format is a handicapped, Tri-Golfathon Format (six holes scramble, six holes best ball and six holes alternate shot), with two-person teams.  The fee is $300 per team. First place is a $2,000 purse; second place pays $1,000 and third place pays $500.  There will also be closest to the pin and long drive prizes.
Continental breakfast and lunch is included.
Proceeds benefit Take Stock in Children, a program of the Education Foundation that provides four-year scholarships and mentors to deserving children in Osceola County.

KSA swimming
The Kissimmee Swimming Association is accepting new swimmers.
Swimmers must be at least age 5 who can swim freestyle and backstroke. KSA also is accepting swimmers age 18 or older for its masters program.

Celebration wrestling
The Celebration Wrestling Club meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4 to 5:30 p.m. in the high school wrestling room.

Shooter’s Gold camp
New Dimensions High School will host the Shooter’s Gold summer basketball camp June 21-24 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m for students entering grades 5-8 next school year.
The camp includes instruction, a T-shirt, breakfast and lunch.

Chamber golf
The Osceola Chamber of Commerce Golf Classic at ChampionsGate is May 21 at 7:45 a.m.
The fee for the best ball scramble is $150 per player or $500 per corporate foursome.
Prizes include custom golf shoes from Foot Joy,  Cleveland Black Pearl wedges and Cleveland blade putters.
