Friends from local middle and high schools gather to walk an early lap in Kissimmee’s Relay For Life, held Friday and Saturday, April 16-17, at Osceola High School.

Osceola High School sophomores Holly O’Donnell, left, Kristen Ackley, center, Kimber Berry, right, and Taylor Murphy, rear, arrange luminaria on the school’s bleachers to form the word “CURE” during Relay For Life, a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society.

During the overnight event, which lasted from 6 p.m. Friday night until 10 a.m. Saturday, walkers made laps around the Osceola High School track in order to celebrate those who are battling cancer and to remember those claimed by the disease.
